the wisdom of the wheel of life and death. And it is a time for letting go. A time for realization and distillation of past experiences. A time for the release of those things in your life that have run their course. These now crystallize as seeds for future growth, to be reborn at the solstice of winter. The solstice marks the moment when the sun will begin to rise northward along the horizon, and so is connected to the direction of North in the sacred circle. For this reason it also assumes some of the significance and spiritual energy of the universal axis, which is marked by the pole star. The winter solstice is known in the mystery traditions as the Gate of Deities, for it is at this time the avatars are born, when light is most concentrated in the UnderRealm. This inner light is available to all in some degree. But those trained in the esoteric arts are able to access powerful energies for initiation, transformation and spiritual service. |
The Tide of Earth begins on or about Nov. 1st, reaches its peak on the winter solstice (Dec. 21-22) and ends on January 31st.
